Why Dads Should Read...
6:37 PM
The kids and I are up in Idaho for Spring Break this week while Dad is at home working. My Bailey (7) has been pretty emotional. She really hates being away from her dad. He does bedtime stories with our kids 95% of the time. He talks to them about their day and reads whatever book they're in the middle of. He's one good daddy!
One of the best things a dad can do for their kids is to read with them. Why? I loved this quote from this article:
"You’re not just reading them a story. You’re holding their hand, opening a door, and showing them what the world is like.
If that introduction is too big, scary, or confusing, you’re the one there with them, trying to explain what everything means."
Dads, read the bedtime story to your kids tonight. You're making a bigger difference than just reading a story.
