Today has been a carpool-everywhere, sit-in-the-car-and-wait day. So... here is dinner via @costavida and their marvelous drive-thru! I'll be eating this deliciousness (and not another burger!) while I read and wait for my girl to get done with gymnastics. Who else has been carpooling today?
"Mom and Dad looked at the book. They opened it... The children moved closer as Dad turned the page and read on... They huddled beside the lamp and listened to the story... The next day, as the family yawned their good mornings, they were closer than ever before." Bailey, who's dressed up as a ballerina today, is reading one of our favorite books. "The Children Who Loved Books"
📚 Its a pretty perfect book for a girl who loves books too.

Yesterday, I got to participate in a Literacy Matters event where I got to talk about something I am SO passionate about: early literacy.
Here are the recordings if anyone is interested. Keep in mind this was a live event, so there are no edits. I hope this is helpful!
Here are 6 essential pre-reading skills (outlined by the state of Utah) with tips on how you can teach these skills to your little ones!
1. Print Motivation
2. Vocabulary
3. Print Awareness
4. Narration
5. Letter Knowledge
6. Phonological Awareness
What did you learn? What have you tried with your kids?
